Donna Erikson is a workaholic and a criminal lawyer who has no time to care for anyone but herself. She must navigate her ambitious lifestyle while staying alert to a murder case that could have happened over thirty years ago. Her client, Janice Bradford, appears to be a respected suburban housewife, but when her past is uncovered, it is revealed that she was a member of a non-violent protest organization, which apparently carried out a fatal bombing against a real estate developer. However, Janice claims it was merely an accident, and the court will make a ruling on this. Janice Bradford's past is complicating her future, threatening to destroy her family's future. Donna must prove her client's innocence and help her regain her identity as a socially conscious and responsible citizen. With the help of her ex-husband's private investigator Glenn Garrison, they must retrace the past to determine whether Janice is truly the murderer or just the sole survivor of a deadly conspiracy.
