The T-virus ravages the Hive and quickly disrupts the peace of Raccoon City on the surface, leading to the emergence of zombies in the crowd. Umbrella Corporation seals off the entire city and plans to use nuclear weapons to destroy it to cover up the fact of the virus leak. Alice (played by Milla Jovovich), who has been injected with the T-virus giving her abilities far beyond those of a normal human, wakes from her slumber. In the chaos of Raccoon City, she teams up with defense team member Valentine (played by Sienna Guillory) and journalist Terri among others, trying to find a way to escape. Meanwhile, Umbrella scientist Dr. Ashford seeks help from Alice and defense team member Carlos (played by Oded Fehr) to save his daughter Angela, who was abandoned in the city, offering a means of escape in return. However, Umbrella has dispatched a 'Nemesis' transformed by environmentalist Matt to stop all of this... This film won the Best Sound Editing at the 2005 Canadian Genie Awards and the Golden Reel Award. It is the second film in the Resident Evil series.
