Agent Hannaway (played by Josh Holloway) is killed during a mission, and nuclear confidential documents are intercepted by the female assassin Moren (played by Léa Seydoux). To retrieve the documents, Agent Benji (played by Simon Pegg) and Agent Jane (played by Paula Patton) rescue Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) from a Russian prison. Their ghost protocol mission is to steal nuclear military codes from the Kremlin. However, when they approach their target, they discover that the terrorist Hendricks (played by Michael Nyqvist) has beaten them to it and taken the military codes. In the explosion, Hunt is trapped in a hospital and pursued by Russian agents; luckily, his agility helps him escape the danger. However, Hunt's superior also dies in the chaos, leaving only his assistant Brandt (played by Jeremy Renner) and Hunt to survive, along with Benji and Jane. The four, pushed to their limits, begin their final battle, from Dubai to India.
