In order to resurrect his deceased friend Kato (played by Kenichi Matsuyama) and other fallen comrades, Kei Kurono (played by Kazunari Ninomiya) and his allies have been fighting against various aliens for five months to win more points. During this process, new recruits continuously join Gantz, and these newcomers seem to have an inexplicable familiarity with this seemingly strange alien world. One day, Kato, who should have been dead, suddenly appears in the real world, leaving Kurono and the others baffled. Furthermore, the battles start showing many oddities, such as during a fight with the Black-clad aliens, where both sides unexpectedly end up in a crowded subway carriage, resulting in a bloodbath and massive casualties. The boundaries between reality and illusion begin to blur, and the aggressive aliens are preparing to launch a final assault on Gantz's headquarters...
