The director of the Astronomy Institute (played by Georges Méliès) proposed an imaginative plan for a trip to the moon at a conference. He, along with five other bold astronomers, created a projectile capsule and a cannon, and with the help of the military, they successfully launched to the moon in the capsule. After the excitement, the six astronomers fell exhausted asleep on the lunar surface, unaware that many stars were quietly observing their sleeping figures. A final cold snowfall woke them up. As everyone hid in a cave, they inadvertently disturbed the moon people with an umbrella, and thus a chaotic adventure began...
