In 1992, the continuous tribal wars devastated the East African country of Somalia, leaving the people in dire straits. The ensuing famine caused by this led to the death of 300,000 people. The dictator Mohamed Farah Aidid, who controlled the capital Mogadishu, stole aid supplies from international organizations, inciting public outrage. The crazed Aidid declared war on international peacekeeping forces, prompting the United States to send 160 special forces members to Mogadishu to overthrow Aidid's regime. This group of passionate warriors was full of confidence, but they found themselves in a stalemate due to insufficient intelligence gathering. During an operation to capture two high-ranking officials of Aidid's regime, the special forces faced fierce resistance from Somali militias. A fierce standoff erupted in the city center, and an American Black Hawk helicopter was shot down over the city, with its crew members in grave danger. To rescue their comrades, a small team of special forces soldiers ventured into the lion's den. Over the next 15 hours, they experienced one of the most unimaginable hellscapes.
