The writer Carlos Calaste has long focused on the research of the famous American novelist Ernest Hemingway, whose experiences during his time in Brazil are enigmatic and caused him distress to the point of forgetting his own birthday. Not long after, he visited an old bookstore where he received a worn manuscript from a stranger claiming to be a friend of the shop owner. Preliminary investigations revealed that this manuscript written in Spanish, titled "The Darkness of Havana," is very likely authored by Hemingway himself. The book describes a brutal murder that occurred in a certain house, forcing Carlos to connect it with real-life cases. Encouraged by his friend John and his girlfriend Carolina Ravassa, the three set off for Cuba. During the investigation, Carlos seems to be getting closer to the dark truth, but he also discovers that he is being led towards destruction by a terrifying presence...
