Twelve years after the Meiji Restoration, Japan welcomed a new era. The once formidable executioner, Himura Kenshin, has now become a pacifist, living a peaceful life in Tokyo with his friends. One night, Kenshin's favorite restaurant is struck by artillery, leaving behind a note that reads 'People to be punished'—someone is preparing to carry out divine justice, and the day of judgment is fast approaching. This person is Yukishiro Enishi, who harbors hatred towards Kenshin and comes with a group of subordinates seeking revenge.
