 Synopsis
The Dragon Arhat (Stephen Chow) descends from the heavens and makes a bet with the celestial beings, claiming that in the mortal realm, he can make three ordinary people make sacrifices for others within a certain time limit; otherwise, he is willing to suffer the pains of reincarnation again. The Tiger-subduing Arhat transforms into the monk Ji Gong and comes to the mortal world, playing among humans while also doing good deeds. He selects three individuals: a nine-lifetime beggar (Anthony Wong) punished by heaven, a prostitute (Maggie Cheung) who has been humiliated by men, and a murderer (Danny Lee) known for his violent crimes to be his test subjects.With clever and witty arrangements, Ji Gong establishes good relationships with the three. Ultimately, the nine-lifetime beggar and the thief are touched by Ji Gong to make sacrifices for others, while the prostitute falls deeply in love with him, causing him to worry about whether to abandon his immortal status to stay in the mortal world.
