Since his beloved wife died of dying childbirth 12 years ago in the Haiti earthquake, Victor Fertin (Leslie Odom Jr.) has raised their daughter Angela (Lidya Jewett) alone.
But when Angela and her friend Catherine (Olivia Marcum) disappeared in the woods, but suddenly returned home three days later and could not remember what had happened to her, a series of strange events triggered, forcing Victor to face the possibility of evil forces. So out of despair and fear, he asked for help from the only person who witnessed this thing with his own eyes but was still alive: Chris McNeil (Ellen Burstyn).
