Based on Simon Rich's book 'What in God’s Name,' this 7-episode anthology comedy is scheduled to premiere in 2018. 'Miracle Workers' is a workplace comedy, but this 'workplace' refers to heaven. Daniel Radcliffe plays Craig, a lower-level angel responsible for handling the prayers of all humanity, while Steve Buscemi (originally cast as Owen Wilson, later replaced) plays Craig's boss - God. This God neglects his duties due to his personal interests, so Craig must accomplish the least likely miracle before the deadline to prevent the Earth from being destroyed. Geraldine Viswanathan plays Eliza, who, after 500 years of diligently sorting through billions of prayers in heaven’s mailroom, is finally promoted to the 'Prayer Response Department.' She is excited to be able to respond to human prayers to help them, but Eliza soon discovers that only a tiny fraction of prayers get answered, which is a cold splash of reality for her... Even worse, these so-called 'prayers' are just the trivial matters of finding car keys or catching an elevator; as a perfectionist, she decides to tackle the important 'prayers' on her first day at the new job, inadvertently triggering a disaster that could destroy the Earth. Jon Bass plays Sam, a gentle, considerate, shy, kind, and lonely person who feels inferior due to his perceived lack of attractiveness and achievements. When he meets Laura, Sam falls in love but doesn't dare to act; instead, he decides to pray to God to have a chance with Laura. Karan Soni plays God's right-hand man, responsible for reporting to God weekly; his personality is somewhat 'nice guy,' so he has to do his best to deal with his mischievous boss and argue over ideas that could definitely cause major problems, like blowing up Bill Maher (stand-up comedian and talk show host)... or destroying the Earth.
