During the late Ming period, the Central Plains and the border of the Jin Kingdom were engulfed in flames of war, with the demonic sect led by Ji Wushuang (played by Ng Man-tat) wreaking havoc. The court and the martial arts world united to resist the enemy. The first disciple of the Wudang sect, Zhuo Yihang (played by Leslie Cheung), was rebellious since childhood but had exceptional talent, garnering the attention of the sect leader, Ziyang Zhenren. Throughout his youth, Zhuo Yihang experienced numerous extraordinary encounters, meeting the then military officer Wu Sangui (played by Ko Hung) and the mysterious wolf girl (played by Brigitte Lin). As an adult, Zhuo Yihang was an upright person, yet his inherent nature as a playboy remained unchanged; he refused to be constrained by social morals, often acting heroically but facing frequent accusations.
