The story follows immediately after "The Purge: Election Year." Adela, who escaped from a drug cartel, comes to Texas with her husband Juan, where he works on the Tucker family's ranch. Juan is highly regarded by the patriarch of the Tucker family, Caleb, which makes Caleb's son Dylan jealous. However, on the morning after the annual "Purge," an underground organization intends to continue the killings, throwing the entire country into chaos. The Tucker family, including Dylan's wife and sister, is also caught in the turmoil, forcing everyone to unite against the attackers and find a way to escape into Mexico, where the border is only open for six hours.
