In order to rescue her brother from prison, a mainland girl named Xiaoqian (played by Wu Qianlian) travels to Hong Kong, preparing to sell herself to raise money. However, she becomes embroiled in a case involving the murder of a mafia boss. Xiaoqian escapes the scene with stolen money, but the real killer within the mafia issues a kill order against her. In her panic, Xiaoqian accidentally injures an old police officer, Uncle Biao (played by Kwan Hoi San), and flees to a racetrack, where a motorcycle racer named A Fu (played by Aaron Kwok) helps her escape danger and takes her in. A Fu, a wealthy young man, lost his mother in a car accident caused by his passion for racing, which has strained his relationship with his father (played by Chin Po). He now lives alone in a dilapidated building, spending his nights racing and feeling the loneliness of his youth. After being ridiculed at the police station, Uncle Biao works hard to find Xiaoqian's whereabouts to regain the respect of his peers, while the mafia gradually closes in on A Fu and Xiaoqian. One day, after being betrayed by his partner at the racetrack, A Fu returns home to find that his house has been set ablaze by the mafia...
