More than 50 years ago, a spaceship from Cybertron crashed on the moon, triggering the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union. Humanity rushed to land on the moon, all to uncover the secrets hidden within the wreckage of the spaceship. Fast forward to the early 21st century, after several battles, the Autobots finally defeated the Decepticon invasion and began collaborating with humans to protect beautiful Earth together. However, the incident in Chernobyl brought the long-shelved lunar program back to the table. To prevent the Decepticons from finding the energon columns and using them for evil, Optimus Prime and his comrades flew to the moon, where they rescued the Autobots' former leader—Unicron—from the wrecked spaceship of that era. Unicron, the inventor of the energon columns, could create a space bridge by combining hundreds of energon columns, allowing for instant transportation of matter. Sam, who was busy looking for a job and managing his relationship with his girlfriend Carly (played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), inevitably got caught up in it all. He gradually uncovered the Decepticons’ manipulative plot, unaware that a greater conspiracy and crisis lurked behind the shadow of the moon...
