After the bloody turmoil of the last episode, Bourne (played by Matt Damon) and his girlfriend Marie (played by Franka Potente) are living in seclusion in a remote seaside town in India, wanting to forget their past lives. One day, a mysterious organization's assassin arrives in the town, breaking the tranquility of Bourne's world. During the ensuing chaos, his girlfriend Marie is shot and killed. To uncover the truth, Bourne begins to fight again. He discovers that the CIA, where he used to work, is once again searching for him, and he becomes embroiled in an assassination plot, being falsely accused of ruining a CIA intelligence deal and killing an agent. Bourne has no choice but to locate the impersonator who is posing as him, in order to clear his name and avenge his girlfriend.
