With great power comes great responsibility. Spider-Man Peter Parker (played by Andrew Garfield) faces the ultimate battle against crime and disaster as he approaches graduation. However, a past emotional entanglement has caused his relationship with girlfriend Gwen Stacy (played by Emma Stone) to freeze over. Gwen applies for a job at Oscorp, the company that provides electricity to the entire city, during which two major events unfold that will affect the fates of Oscorp and Peter and others. The head of Oscorp passes away, leaving his son Harry (played by Dane DeHaan) to take over the $200 billion giant at the age of 20. Meanwhile, an engineer named Max Dillon (played by Jamie Foxx), who is obsessed with Spider-Man, dies in an accident while repairing equipment, only to awaken as a superhuman filled with electrical energy. Feeling deceived, Max confronts Spider-Man in Times Square, while the friendship between Peter and Harry faces a cruel twist of fate...
