The story tells of Yang Jian (played by Li Dongxue) battling the three evil spirits in the Wind and Thunder Tower, exterminating the evil gods, and opening the Heavenly Eye to seal the gods. He teams up with the Cailian girl, Meng Yue (played by Fu Mengni), and the town mayor's son, Yu Lang (played by Hu Wei), to form the God-Slaying Team, working together to break the Nine-Twist Yellow River Formation and protect the local people.
