 Synopsis
Film stuntman Roy Walker (played by Lee Pace) is severely injured while filming a scene where he leaps off a bridge on horseback, resulting in paralysis and loss of sensation in his lower body. In this moment of extreme despair, he feels hopeless and contemplates giving up on life. Just as Roy is feeling down, he encounters a 5-year-old girl named Alexandra (played by Catinca Untaru) who has just broken her arm and is admitted to the same hospital. These two friends, separated by age, forge a bond as Alexandra visits Roy's room every day just to hear her friend tell a fantastical and magical story. Roy captivates the little girl with this improvised tale, but he secretly intends to use it as a means to execute his suicide plan.The film won the Special Mention - Best Film award at the 2007 Berlin Film Festival and the Best Film award at the Sitges - Catalonian International Film Festival, as well as the Best Screenplay at the 2008 Austin Film Critics Association Awards.
