Japanese perverse extreme films; during the Bakumatsu period, the ruthless assassin Okada Izō (played by Kazuya Nakayama) is executed by the government. A strand of resentment returns to the human world, and after being resurrected, he transforms into a true killing machine, seeking bloody revenge on the world in the name of 'Heaven's Punishment.' Representatives of various forces, including popes, politicians, military officials, police, samurai, and family members, stand in his way, but before the man-slayer Izō, they all inevitably become corpses. Throughout the massacre, the beastly nature within Izō gradually gains the upper hand, causing him immense suffering. At these times, his companion from past lives, Saya (played by Kaori Momoi), is always by his side. Ultimately, Izō kills his way to the highest lord (played by Ryūhei Matsuda) and launches his final attack. Directed by renowned Japanese cult director Takashi Miike in 2004, this controversial work features many of Japan's top stars.
