During World War II, a British plane was shot down on a bombing mission by the German military, forcing several British soldiers to parachute to safety. They agreed to meet in a Turkish bath and used the code name 'Mandarin Duck Tea' for their operation as a rendezvous signal. They landed in different locations within the German-occupied area of Paris, France. Squadron Leader Reginald was rescued by a zoo keeper. The other two soldiers were also hidden with the help of a painter named Auguste (played by Bourvil) and a band conductor named Stanislas (played by Louis de Funès). Even though the Germans conducted a citywide search, the painter, conductor, and squadron leader successfully met in the bathhouse. After some twists and turns, the British soldiers finally made contact. Several strangers thus formed a life-and-death alliance, engaging in a clever and dangerous game against the enemy. At the same time, they created many touching and humorous moments. They used their meager resources to resist the ruthless German forces, facing numerous dangers, and fought together to escape from the jaws of death.
