Mathematics professor Lambe from MIT announced a difficult math problem in a meeting, which was solved by a young janitor named Will (played by Matt Damon). However, Will is a troubled youth who spends his days hanging out with his friends, including Chuck (played by Ben Affleck), getting into fights and causing trouble. When Lambe finds this genius, Will is being sentenced to a detention center for assaulting a police officer. Lambe pleads with the judge for bail, which saves Will from prison. To help Will find his life purpose and not waste his mathematical talent, Lambe hires many psychology experts to mentor him, but Will is very resistant, and the experts are at a loss. In desperation, Lambe turns to his college friend, psychology professor Sean (played by Robin Williams), hoping he can help Will open up. Through the persistent efforts of Lambe and Sean, Will gradually begins to open his heart, and a conversation with his friend Chuck truly enlightens him.
