The two factions have been peacefully robbing passing merchants, but one day, the silver from the Qiu family's escort is stolen by someone claiming to be a ghost hero. The Qiu family mistakenly believes it was the work of Huo family leader Huo Da. The Qiu family leader, Qiu Ping, leads the search for revenge but lacks evidence, leading to a fierce battle between the two families and the establishment of a grudge. Huo Da has a son, Shi Chuan, who is skilled in both literature and martial arts, and he is deeply in love with his family maid, Yulan, distancing himself from the Qiu family's only daughter, Li Chang, who is infatuated with him. To strengthen his power, Huo Da forces Shi Chuan to marry Li Chang, leading Shi Chuan to flee. One day, a mysterious person claiming to be a female beggar hero informs Shi Chuan that Huo Da is not his real father. Shi Chuan accuses her of sowing discord and drives her away, but the ghost hero suddenly appears, advising him not to believe his father. The two have a heated argument and get into a fight, providing the ghost hero with the chance to escape amidst the chaos, leading Shi Chuan to reflect on this matter...
