The brave and fearless Jeremy Coleman (played by Josh Duhamel) is a popular firefighter. One night, after finishing a call, he goes into a convenience store to shop, where he encounters the gang leader David Hagan (played by Vincent D'Onofrio) who is trying to take over the territory with his men. The store manager and his family are killed, and Jeremy narrowly escapes. Afterwards, as a witness, he identifies the killer, but Officer Mike Serra (played by Bruce Willis), who knows David well, persuades Jeremy to enter witness protection and assume a new identity to avoid David's ruthless revenge. However, his whereabouts are soon discovered by David's gang, and he and his girlfriend Talia (played by Rosario Dawson) are ambushed, leaving her severely injured. The vicious David is determined to drive Jeremy to a dead end, and in a desperate fight for survival, Jeremy launches a fierce counterattack...
