In the late Qing dynasty and early Republic of China, with continuous wars and turmoil, the wicked Wang Lidang is harming lives. The mad Jianghu sorcerer Mao Bupo and his disciples Bai Qi and Bai Yuan come to Heling City to hunt down the evil entity. Bai Qi defeats Wang Lidang and the two-headed snake, but Wang Lidang's dying words and markings raise Mao Bupo's suspicions, reminding him of a massacre from years ago. Soon, strange occurrences begin at the General's residence, and the trio is invited to investigate. Old acquaintances Huang Lao Jiu and Huang Ling'er also accompany them. Bai Qi uncovers that the strange happenings are the work of the evil spirit known as the Laughing Puppet, and decides to enter the Demon Extermination Mirror to seek the truth. In the cycle of life and death, what will happen to family and love? Will the undying Left Qianqiu's conspiracy succeed? Everything lies within the world of the Demon Extermination Mirror...
