Former Hong Kong boxing champion Cheng Hui (played by Zhang Jiahui), after his decline in the boxing world, becomes addicted to gambling and is heavily in debt. To escape from debt collectors, he flees to Macau. In a rented apartment, Cheng Hui meets a mother and daughter; the mother (played by Mei Ting) suffers from mental illness, and the little girl (Li Xinqiao) not only has to go to school but also has to take care of her mother.
