The work is adapted from the manga of the same name by Kō, depicting the relationship between the indifferent and gambling-addicted "failure teacher" Haiba Jin and the academically excellent but passive high school girl Ochiai Mikoto. It revolves around a tense romantic comedy. The story takes place when Asama, feeling heartbroken, is about to jump off the school rooftop, and Haiba stops him from committing suicide, saying, "Wouldn't you fall in love with me before you die?"
