Qiaoqiao has been working in Guangzhou for several years, and her disappointment always outweighs her hopes. This year, prompted by her parents, she finally returned to her rural hometown in Yunnan. When faced with the current state of the Chinese countryside, her memories seemed to become even more distant. Here, she must confront a sexually incapable father and a mother who struggles to make a living through a small business. There is a sense of distance between the villagers and Qiaoqiao, who are often suspicious of her work outside. In what was once her hometown, Qiaoqiao feels more like an outsider, experiencing an unprecedented loneliness and desolation, always wishing to return to the familiar city as soon as possible. Yet, it is here that Qiaoqiao meets Dazhong, a barber from Guangdong who reignites her dreams of venturing out, and the fervently pursuing Li Wei, a delinquents who regards himself as a rich second generation. Faced with these pressing realities, Qiaoqiao can only keep postponing her plans to return to the city...
