Danny (played by Jude Law) always remembers his first encounter with Anna (played by Gretchen Mol). He was five years old that year, and Anna was just a newborn. When the boy Danny painstakingly untangled the umbilical cord from around Anna's neck with his own hands, he firmly believed that this crying girl would someday become his wife. Twenty years have passed in the blink of an eye; Danny has returned from England as a handsome young man, and likewise, Anna has grown into a beautiful woman. However, Anna is no longer the fragile infant who couldn’t fend for herself; a sense of stubbornness and independence emanates from her youthful, firm skin, captivating Danny even more.
