 Synopsis
Ten years after combating the alien invasion and successfully sealing the wormhole, humanity rises from the ruins. They forget their fears and indulge in revelry, including Jack, the son of General Stacker Pentecost (played by John Boyega). During a scavenging mission for abandoned mech parts, he unexpectedly encounters Amara (played by Cailee Spaeny), a girl who has assembled a mini mech all by herself. Following this, under the arrangement of his sister Mako Mori (played by Rinko Kikuchi), Jack and Amara begin training as mech pilots at the Uprising Base. Meanwhile, the Shao Group, based in Shanghai and headed by President Shao Liwen (played by Jing Tian), is working on replacing traditional mechs with unmanned mechs. At this crucial moment, a black mech that closely resembles the vengeful wanderer suddenly appears and begins a relentless slaughter of humanity. People realize that the distant alien 'Progenitors' are still stirring and waiting for the right moment to eradicate the Earth's inhabitants...
