Breaking the Taboo

General Liu Daxiong of Zhenxi and his wife Qi Mei (played by Mao Ying) are intercepted by four former servants on their way home. In this attack, Liu Daxiong is unfortunately killed, and Qi Mei suffers humiliation. However, the mastermind behind these four servants is actually the attendant of the Sixth Prince. Mistakenly judged as a criminal for attempting to murder an official, Qi Mei is sentenced to lifelong exile on a deserted island—Wolf Fang Island. In prison, Qi Mei befriends the Thousand-Hand Guanyin and they become close friends. On the deserted island, she gives birth to a daughter. To prevent her daughter from becoming embroiled in worldly conflicts, Thousand-Hand Guanyin decides to send her to a nunnery and names her Jie Lian. However, after Jie Lian has mastered martial arts, the heavy aura of killing she exudes violates the killing taboo, forcing her to be expelled from the temple. Jie Lian learns about her heritage from her adoptive mother, Thousand-Hand Guanyin, and resolves to seek revenge. She remembers the grievances and humiliation suffered on the deserted island 20 years ago and swears to avenge her parents, uncover the truth, and make those who caused her parents' deaths pay the price.
