Seeing Shaolin Temple as a thorn in their side, the Qing court used information provided by spies planted in the temple to dispatch various masters to burn down Shaolin Temple, meticulously planning to eradicate the Shaolin disciples in one fell swoop. The attack came suddenly, and after a hasty confrontation, nine out of ten monks and lay disciples perished. Those who survived, including Fang Dahong (Meng Fei), escaped to Guangdong to meet up with Li Shikai (Qi Guanjun) to discuss how to continue the fight against the Qing and restore the Ming. Meanwhile, Hu Dedi (Giant David), Cai Dezhong (Di Long), Ma Chaoxing (Fu Sheng), and others headed north to the Central Plains, doing everything possible to find the traitor within the temple, determined to avenge the fallen Shaolin disciples. -- The five initially doubted Shaolin Kung Fu, but later realized that it was not the fault of the kung fu itself, but rather their own lack of skill. Thus, they devoted themselves to training and ultimately achieved success, later being referred to as the 'Five Ancestors of Shaolin'.
