 Synopsis
Ten years after the Jedi defeated the Sith apprentice, the Galactic Republic faces a new threat. Former Jedi Knight Count Dooku (played by Christopher Lee) stirs up thousands of star systems to break away from the Republic and prepares a large army of droids for a coup. Naboo's Padmé Amidala (played by Natalie Portman) arrives on Coruscant as a senator after completing her term as queen, determined to cast a crucial vote for the formation of a Republic army. Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Ewan McGregor), along with the grown-up Anakin Skywalker (played by Hayden Christensen), is assigned to protect Amidala's safety. During Anakin's escort of Amidala back to Naboo for refuge, the two develop feelings for each other and decide to go to Tatooine to search for Anakin's mother. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan investigates the assassin's whereabouts and delves deep into the planet Geonosis, discovering Count Dooku's conspiracy, but finds himself trapped and in grave danger... The film was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 75th Academy Awards in 2003.
