Synopsis

Charles Bronson (played by Tom Hardy) came from an upper-class family and had uncontrollable violent tendencies from a young age. Unlike others, Bronson was unable to complete his education and hold a job. After marrying in 1974, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for robbing a post office with a gun. From that point on, Bronson abandoned his original name, Michael, and became infamously known as one of Britain's most notorious prisoners. Driven by a desire for attention, Bronson used violence as a means to achieve fame. He refused to submit to any authority while in prison, earning the respect of inmates and the attention of the media. Bronson claims to be "the most violent criminal in Britain," and his prison life consisted of constant solitary confinement and frequent transfers between prisons. After being released, he entered the underground boxing scene but was soon imprisoned again. The story of this prison brute, Bronson, continues... This film is based on a true story.
