During the Southern Song Dynasty, there was an inn operating at Shizipo in Mengzhou, run by the beautiful and skilled proprietress, Sun Erniang (played by Zhou Haimei), who was as strong as any man. Ten years ago, she came to Shizipo with her father, while her husband, Old Sun, was consumed by hatred for a wife who had wronged him and became a gambling addict; now he only drowns his sorrows in alcohol. One night, a man sneaks into the inn—he is Zhang Qing (played by Mo Shaocong), who is wanted by the authorities for accidentally killing someone. After several encounters, Zhang Qing is subdued by Sun Erniang, and Old Sun decides to keep him in the inn. Zhang Qing, enchanted by Sun Erniang's beauty, decides to stay as well. They bicker, joke, and playfully quarrel as they spend their days together. However, one day, as the court sends troops to Liangshan, the tensions rise, and Shizipo becomes a key battleground for both sides' hidden conflicts. As the storm brews, the fighting becomes imminent. This film is adapted from one of the four great classics, 'Water Margin'.
