 Synopsis
In a modern urban environment filled with haze, coldness, and rampant evils, hardworking insurance salesman Mark (played by Daniel Wu) has been living with his mother (played by Carrie Ng), who suffers from schizophrenia, for many years. In order to help his mother move into the best nursing home, Mark works tirelessly to earn money, even going so far as to commit perjury to protect his position. However, one misstep leads to a lifetime of regret; his act of perjury is discovered by a mysterious individual, resulting in not only the theft of his savings but also being forced to follow the instructions given over the phone. During this process, Mark reunites with his high school first love, Jessy (played by Yao Chen), who works at a bank. Little does he know, Jessy is also ensnared in the mysterious person's trap, tying their fates closely together. Following this, Mark also crosses paths with the intimidating gang leader Tai (played by Simon Yam).
