On the eve of the third India-Pakistan war in 1971, tensions between both sides were at a breaking point. At that moment, a Kashmiri businessman, who had close contacts with the Pakistani military and was actually an Indian spy, learned he had terminal lung cancer. He made a difficult decision—to marry off his young, talented daughter Samrat (played by Alia Bhatt) to an enemy country to fulfill his unfinished mission. Thus, Samrat abandoned her studies, and after a brief training, became the newlywed wife of Ikbal (played by Vicky Kaushal), the son of a Pakistani general, stepping into the role of an Indian spy tasked with an important mission. As time was running out, Samrat had to navigate a new environment filled with both friendly and cautious family members and seize every second to obtain crucial war intelligence. However, the harsh realities of war far exceeded Samrat's expectations... Trivia: This film is adapted from Harinder Sikka's novel 'Call of Samrat'. The current box office performance in India ranks it fifth, with the first four being Sanju, Padmaavat, Race 3, and Baaghi 2.
