This film tells the story of a messenger named Zhang Zuo, who disguises himself as a 'deserter' while executing a secret mission to deliver a message. He encounters numerous dangers at the Huangsha渡客栈 (Yellow Sand Inn). In a time of national crisis, various heroes step in to assist him, ultimately helping Zhang Zuo deliver the secret message and save the common people, but he sacrifices himself in the desert in this martial arts tale.
