 Synopsis
In a small town in the American West, Sheriff Franklin Hunt (played by Kurt Russell) shoots a suspicious homeless man at night and then calls the town doctor Samantha (played by Lili Simmons) to treat the suspect. As night falls, a stableman is brutally murdered by a mysterious intruder, and both the suspect and Samantha vanish without a trace. Franklin senses the gravity of the situation and gathers Samantha's husband Arthur O. Dwyer (played by Patrick Wilson) and other villagers for a meeting at the local tavern, where they learn that last night's incident may have been caused by a mysterious cave-dweller. This group of savages practices incest and even resorts to cannibalism, including eating their own mothers. Despite the immense danger, Franklin and other brave souls are determined to venture into the cave-dweller's lair to rescue the kidnapped villagers, but this journey is fraught with peril...
