The story takes place during the Republic of China period, where the handsome and charming male owner, He Shuming (played by Luo Bin), lives in a luxurious villa with his obedient daughter, Sisi. Unfortunately, the female owner, Yan Zhen (played by Zhang Xiaoyan), had previously committed suicide by jumping off a building, an event that not only left the family heartbroken but also cast a ghostly and terrifying shadow over the villa. Shuming is often plagued by nightmares and strange occurrences in the house, while Sisi frequently swings on a swing with her mother in a sea of flowers during the night. After medication fails to help, He Shuming invites detective Shangguan Tian (played by Qi Zhi), who specializes in investigating supernatural events, and traditional medicine practitioner Xiao Yan (played by Liao Weiwei). When questioned by the detective duo, the male owner hesitates and speaks ambiguously, while the beautiful maid, Xia He (played by Yang Zitong), seems to have reservations and is reluctant to speak openly. Uncertain whether it is a person or a ghost, Shangguan and Xiao Yan tentatively begin their ghost-hunting operation, gradually uncovering the truth behind the ghostly shadows in the process.
