 Synopsis
Logan (played by Zac Efron) is a U.S. Marine sergeant who unexpectedly comes across a photo of a girl while on the battlefield. Logan repeatedly survives deadly combat missions in Iraq, and his comrades refer to her as his lucky charm. While his fellow soldiers perish in unexpected combat incidents, Logan is the only one to survive, and he sees the photo as his talisman, feeling gratitude towards the girl in it. After his service ends, he returns to the U.S. with the determination to find this unknown girl in the photo. Thus, Logan walks across multiple cities in America with his dog, asking around, and finally locates the girl in the photo named Beth (played by Taylor Schilling). By chance, Logan gets a job at the animal shelter that Beth runs. As they spend time together, the two gradually get to know each other more intimately, and Logan develops feelings for her that go beyond gratitude as he becomes more familiar with Beth's complicated life. This film is adapted from Nicholas Sparks' novel 'The Lucky One,' also known as 'The Notebook.' It is the seventh of his books to be brought to the screen.
