 Synopsis
Maria (played by Dakota Blue Richards) is left with a heavy debt after her father's death, along with a thick ancient book titled 'The History of Moon Hill,' which contains the fairy tale of the Moon Princess and the White Horse. At thirteen, Maria becomes an orphan and seeks refuge at her uncle Benjamin's (played by Ioan Gruffudd) Moon Hill Manor. However, shortly after moving into the ancient castle, Maria discovers strange occurrences: her belongings are always misplaced, the piano in the house plays by itself, and at night, the shadow of a white horse can be seen outside... Yet her uncle is unwilling to reveal anything about these mysteries. Therefore, Maria secretly reads the ancient book that her uncle had hidden away, eventually uncovering a long-lost mystery and grudge tied to Moon Hill. It turns out that the entire valley has been shrouded in the curse of the Moon Princess for a century, and only a person with a pure heart can break the spell... This film is adapted from the classic novel 'The Moon Princess in the Castle' by British children's author Elizabeth Goudge.
