This comedy is set against the backdrop of a fictional small town called Tambury, telling the story of Tony (played by Ricky Gervais). Tony is a writer for the local newspaper, and his life undergoes a massive change after his wife dies of cancer. In Season 2, Tony is still immersed in the pain of his wife's passing, but we see him trying to improve his friendly relationships with the people around him. Everyone is struggling with their own issues, and the local newspaper faces a threat of closure, making everyone's situation difficult. Will the local amateur theater production uplift everyone? 'After Life' is a Netflix original series produced by Derek Productions. This six-episode series is created, written, and directed by Ricky Gervais. Charlie Hanson is the producer, with Ricky Gervais and Duncan Hayes as executive producers.
