Apple will adapt the 1981 fantasy comedy film "Time Bandits" into a series, with Taika Waititi ("Thor: Ragnarok," "Hunt for the Wilderpeople") directing and writing the pilot episode. The movie was directed by Terry Gilliam and starred John Cleese, Sean Connery, among others, telling the crazy story of a British boy named Kevin who travels across multiple dimensions. He discovers a time hole in his wardrobe, through which six dwarfs emerge and take Kevin on a series of adventures through history. They stop in ancient Greece, the Middle Ages, the Napoleonic era, and the early 20th century, encountering evil entities before they reach the ultimate dark fortress.
