Lao San (played by Liu Ye) was originally a promising naval officer, but after an accident during a rescue operation that damaged his brain nerves, he had to retire early. After retiring, Lao San continued to live a self-entertaining military life and took it upon himself to bravely fight against any evil forces. Years of military life and persistent training have made Lao San invincible in his battles against thieves, ticket scalpers, and criminal gangs. On the other hand, Hong Kong gang leader Ah Long (played by Anthony Wong) secretly comes to the city with his wife and henchmen, with the goal of stealing Song Dynasty artifacts—specifically, the Yue family's treasures, which are set to be exhibited here. Chief of the Criminal Police, Lao Jiang (played by You Yong), has already been keeping a close eye on these gang forces, but unexpectedly, Lao San, driven by a strong sense of justice and not-so-brilliant intellect, complicates matters. A hard-hitting showdown among the three sides unfolds, pitting justice against evil.
