The story takes place in the home of the famous demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. They travel to help those in need by performing exorcisms and to prevent these evil spirits from harming people again, they bring back cursed items, haunted objects, and objects used in occult rituals to their home, where they store them in a artifact room and paranormal museum. They regularly invite priests to bless and purify these items. Among the items kept in their museum is Annabelle, so evil that even Lorraine Warren does not want to confront it directly. One fateful night, the door to the Warrens' paranormal museum is opened, and Judy, the Warrens' daughter, has a friend who enters the museum unbeknownst to the serious consequences. She inadvertently releases Annabelle, leading to the awakening of all the malicious spirits within. Annabelle and the spirits have a new target: Judy and her good friend...
