In the early years of the Republic of China, a foreign concession police officer named Ah Lai was hunted down by a ruthless gang. Just when his life was hanging by a thread, he was saved by a mysterious woman named Luna, who appeared out of nowhere. Luna was severely injured in the process and fell into a coma. Ah Lai investigated Luna's identity but found no trace of her. Using the twelve comic books she carried with her, he told her stories in hopes of waking his savior. Unbeknownst to him, each story was related to the cases he worked on and even helped him find key clues to solve them. Ah Lai grew more eager for Luna to wake up. He was promoted and received a raise for his accomplishments, but he also secretly attracted enemies. Through clues, Ah Lai discovered Luna's secret. When one of the comic books was finished, Luna awoke. The two developed feelings for each other, but Ah Lai's enemies were also stirring. In the end, with Luna's help, Ah Lai found back his peaceful and pure self and his original intention of being a police officer.
