Chen Jiansheng (played by Yin Yangming) and Zhou Qiguang (played by Lin Junxian) have been close friends since childhood, with a strong bond of friendship. However, they accidentally fall in love with a beautiful girl named Li Yulan at the same time, which causes a rift in their friendship. In the end, Li Yulan chooses Chen Jiansheng, and a disheartened Zhou Qiguang leaves his hometown, distancing himself from the land that brings him sorrow. Decades pass, and Zhou Qiguang transforms from an inconspicuous reckless youth into a wealthy tycoon in Macau, while his daughter, Debbie (played by Deng Lixin), falls in love with a gambling dealer named Zihua (played by Huang Younan). Meanwhile, Chen Jiansheng and Li Yulan's daughter tragically dies in a car accident, leaving son-in-law Yang Zhenqiang (played by Liu Haolong) to care for their son Taotao by himself. Young and mischievous, Taotao cannot bear to see his father alone, so he teams up with his classmate Xiaoxin to try to set up his father Yang Zhenqiang and Xiaoxin's aunt Zifen (played by Liu Xinyou) together.
