The ordinary girl Li Xiaxi (played by Jia Qing) leads an extraordinary life. Although she is a law student, she is burdened with her father's business debts after he, Li Guoliang (played by Li Tianzhu), fails in his ventures. To support herself and her brother's education, she has to work part-time. Little did she know that her father spent all their remaining money on lottery tickets, which ultimately led to her mother passing away due to the stress. Unable to forgive her father, Xiaxi, through a professor's introduction, becomes a tutor in the home of Jiang Tianhao, the president of Mo Wei Group. There, she meets the eldest son Jiang Yibin (played by Zhang Xiaolong), with whom she had an unpleasant encounter before. As they spend more time together, the two enemies from vastly different social backgrounds grow closer, eventually leading to a discussion of marriage. Out of hatred for her father, Xiaxi falsely claims that she has been orphaned since childhood. However, this lie is destined to be uncovered one day...
