Cheung Tak-ju (played by Cheng Kwai-on) is a Hong Kong Royal Police officer, and his wife (played by Wang Xiaofeng) is pregnant, making the couple very intimate. One day, on their way to the hospital for a check-up, they encounter a group of bank robbers. Out of duty, Cheung abandons his wife and bravely goes after them. After a chase and a struggle, Cheung subdues the criminals but is ambushed by the leader, resulting in a steel rod piercing his chest and causing his death, with his body buried among scrap metal. That night, a black cat jumps onto Cheung's body just as a lightning bolt strikes, and miraculously he revives, turning into a fully-fledged zombie. After coming back to life, Cheung possesses immense strength but is afraid of sunlight and needs to recharge periodically. Aware that his time is limited, Cheung decides to conceal this secret from his wife and bring the bank robbers to justice. Meanwhile, during the initial escape, the robbers had taken a girl named Gucci (played by Ye Yunyi) as a hostage, and in the chaos, Gucci manages to escape with a money-filled suitcase. The enraged robbers search for Gucci, and when they learn that Cheung is still alive, an inevitable battle between good and evil ensues…
